In the classification of non-human beings, a near-human is a species which shares enough similarities with humans that, to the untrained eye, they could pass as a human being. Near-humans tend to differ only in slight anatomical ways, such as pointed ears, differences in height, replicating only a certain age group of humanity, etc.
